Good evening to all,
The Maw-Superaereo announces that starting from Monday May 7 will resume the activities of remembrance dedicated to wartime activities of the Royal Air Force through megamission coop.
This year we will focus on the historical period during the second half of 1941, focusing mainly on Axis siege in Malta and on the english reinforcement to the island, as well contrast the activity of direct German/Italian convoys to North Africa.
As for the past year the research started from the analysis of Italian Command war dispatches and from there we reconstruct as much detail as possible military action, then we identified such specific naval units in the sector and the number of aircrafts and their lines of attack.
This year we associated in the missions the memory of pilots lost at sea.
We anticipate that these are historical reenactments and the tactical / strategic is probably more limited than what you are used to make for example in Seow. The whole is less tied to the inventiveness and ingenuity of the command, its boundaries are fixed by history, and the aim is to revive (subject to the means offered by our "beloved" IL2) the sacrifice of our pilots and sailors.

Groups are asked to nominate a leader that will indicate how many pilots may engage in mission.
At the time the missions start at a base of 40 pilots, of course, in the case of requests outnumbered we can add more players.

In terms of mission, we will use the game version 4.10 + 5.1 + HSFX Med_Map the 1:1 scale which have been reconstructed historically, 90% of airports in Sicily and Sardinia, plus we also tried to rebuilt the Italian and English antiaircraft system, I have to say with realistic effects.

BRIEFING 1 MISSION

Malta2012_05/09/1941
In memoria del Ten.Col.Pilota Carlo Romagnoli Medaglia d'Oro al V.M.
Fonti storiche : Nicola Malizia Bollettino di guerra no.458 - 5 Settembre 1941.

- No.20 Hurricane MKIIa
- No.1 Hurricane MKIIc

In memory of Carlo Romagnoli Ten.Col.Pilota Gold Medal to the V.M.
Historical sources: Nicola Malizia, Bulletin of war No.458 - September 5, 1941.
"A fighter team of the R.A. in operational missions in the skies over Malta and the Strait of Sicily have committed, yesterday, with the usual skill and daring, several hard fighting, with great fighter opposing forces. Twenty-two enemy planes were shot down, and many other have returned with damage and injured crew on board. Under these conditions have been distinguished in particular the groups controlled by official pilots: Lt. Col. Carlo Romagnoli, behave heroically at the head of their group and lacking in appeal, Major Francesco Beccaria, captains Valentino Festa and Franco Lucchini. Enemies aircraft have made raids on the area of Catania "

Background: During the night between 3 and 4 September 1941, four JU 87 of the 101 BAT starts to make an attack dive on Maltese airports Mikkabba and Hal-Far. Arrived near the target, the Serg.Magg. Without further throws his bomb SD 500 onto the freighter. Zagnoli says it has certainly hit the ship and inflict serious damage. The report made by Serg.Magg.Zagnoli is evaluated truthful by the Aeronautical Command Sicily, so, that the next morning sought an F2 to the operations room at 10 ° Gruppo CT for an immediate and accurate recognition on the Kalafrana surroundings.
